Asking for cash on freecycle

I've been using freecycle alot recently as decluttering so I get all the emails at the moment.

Someone on my group has just posted asking for cash, not sure how I feel about that.

Thoughts welcome, I'm just not sure.

I thought everything on Freecycle was free.

As in they want cash, for free?

Asking for cash on Freecycle is not what it's for.
If someone is that desperate, they need to see GP and get referral to food bank etc.

Surprised that a post for cash was approved.

I was barred for a period for offering free beer in return for taking something to our local recycling centre which I couldn’t get in my car.

I suspect something similar will happen in this case.

So they are just asking for money or offering something at a price?

They are just asking for cash to pay rent and buy food?

On the site the post has just been deleted, i saw it as i get individual emails

Its a group in london from a wealthy area , just never seen that before

That's against the rules and regulations, the administrators shouldn't have let the post through. I would email them and flag it up to them. Freecycle is to re-use, re-purpose and recycle, not for begging.
