AIBU to take out the recycling?!

Anyone else lying there thinking 'fuck it, can't sleep' so just got up and done chores?!

I'm on a roll on the kitchen and would like to take out the large amount of recycling sat on the side. But it is nearly 1am. Is this anti social behaviour?! Would hate to disturb my neighbours...

I understand wanting to get up and do chores but YABU for doing anything that can disturb the neighbours. They're probably finding it hard to sleep and would not appreciate further noise.

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 25/07/2019 01:02

depends how much glass? Bottles are noisy!

FilthyforFirth · 25/07/2019 01:04

One small soy sauce bottle. My bottle bank is empty as collection was yesterday. The rest will go in the big green bin, milk bottles, squash bottles etc.

But I did suspect I would BU,no matter how stealthy I was!

Take a cool shower that might help.

IWantMyHatBack · 25/07/2019 01:09

No, it's hard enough to sleep in this heat. Just leave it until the morning

FilthyforFirth · 25/07/2019 01:12

I would but we have an exceptionally noisy water pump which would wake my toddler so dont want to risk it!

Moved on to tidying the living room instead. Done all I can in the kitchen Grin

do the rest of the chores. leave the recycling to tomorrow morning.

Crafting1Queen · 25/07/2019 01:34

Oh hahaha OP, you don't mind waking/disturbing your neighbours, who are also possibly struggling to sleep in this heat and are probably going to be a bit tired & grumpy enough as it is in the morning, by taking out the recycling & dropping your Soy Sauce bottle into an empty bottle bank - but you don't want to take a cool shower in case your noisy water pump disturbs your toddler! lol.

Just imagine if one of your neighbours thinks the same thing, but ends up waking your wee one - you'd be fizzing.
I love recycling, hate when people throw what can be recycled into general waste, but what I don't love is when my eejit of a neighbour does his recycling either really late at night, or at sparrow-fart o'clock, without adding this heat into it aswell lol.
Please don't give your neighbours either the fright of their lives, or the rage, by taking it out now, you're right you might think you've gone commando, but I bet it'll sound like a bomb's gone off.

For now, you can chill out, sit and relax a bit now that it's slightly cooler with a delicious ice pole, knowing you've done tomorrow's housework, and sling the recycling out tomorrow, or Friday when it's supposed to be a bit cooler.

Sobeyondthehills · 25/07/2019 02:00

I live in a second floor flat and literally my only jobs left now is the hoovering and putting on the washing machine.

I am positive my neighbours would love me if I started on those.

I would try and minimise any noise, which includes dropping things into bins

FilthyforFirth · 25/07/2019 02:00

I clearly do mind distrubing my neighbours as I mentioned in my first and second post Hmm.

I'd leave the recycling until tomorrow 👀 and hope your neighbour isn't craftingqueen. Holy crap, I've never seen someone have so much rage for someone taking out the recycling! I'm personally thinking is it too late/early for a glass of wine and sit in the garden 😂

FilthyforFirth · 25/07/2019 02:03

That wasnt aimed at you @Sobeyondthehills!

FilthyforFirth · 25/07/2019 02:05

Thank you for getting the light spirited nature of this thread @PremierNaps!

Defo not, so long as your neighbour isnt craftingqueen!

@FilthyforFirth

I got that :)

I completely get where you are coming from though. I want to get on with stuff as I am wide awake with no sleep coming. But anything I now do is just going to make more noise.

Although I do know at least 2 of my 3 neighbours are awake. Probably debating the same things I am.

For a bit of a giggle for you, someone somewhere on my road has gotten a cockerel, so we are all going to be awaken at around 5am, unless someone has figured out where the damn thing is and had a conversation with them

FilthyforFirth · 25/07/2019 02:14

Oh my, a bloody cockerel?! That is so annoying, you will probably just be dropping off to sleep and it will start roosting.

I have run out of stream after a half hearted attempt to clean the downstairs bathroom. Now watching Studio 60.

Hope you get to sleep soon. I am SO awake! Feel I need to join @PremierNaps in the garden for a glass of wine Smile

Probably, although I am hoping for a lie in. DS keeps waking up, so hopefully as it gets cooler he is going to be able to sleep a wee bit better, I have given him a cold towel to sleep on, so hopefully that should help.

I am watching whose line is it anyway and I have wine, so although very hot, at least I am laughing and chilled

PremierNaps · 25/07/2019 02:20

A cockeral! 😂 bad enough I have to listen to seagulls at stupid o clock in the morning! A cockeral would drive me over the edge....and onto the wine at 5pm 😂. Unfortunately settled on Family Guy and a cup of apple juice #LivingTheHighLife

Sobeyondthehills · 25/07/2019 02:26

I have seagulls as well.

Nature seems to be intent on waking me at stupid o clock.

During the winter, we had one really pissed off bird who started off at 5am. Seriously, what type of bird starts off while it is still dark? The one outside our window apparently

PremierNaps · 25/07/2019 03:12

Please don't tell me that @Sobeyondthehills I have only recently moved to a seagull town and was hoping winter would be quieter. I 100% want to know when the shit heads sleep!

mokapot · 25/07/2019 03:26

you could always make a cake....Turn the oven on and get it near enough the core temperature of the sun in the kitchen Grin

cantfindname · 25/07/2019 04:29

@mokapot. Turn on the oven? I had to do this early am on Tuesday. 3am and the kitchen was like an inferno as I baked two cakes and two enormous raised pies for my daughter's workmates.

It was hell. Sheer hell I tell you Grin
