Anyone had experience of this?

Yep. We called BA (took ages to get through) and they offered us new flights two days later than the original ones. They won’t pay compensation for flights cancelled due to a strike but they will organise new flights for you and / or you can cancel completely and get your money back.

Different scenario but we have BA flights to London book for 2nd January and so far they have changed them twice. Hoping upon hope they don't cancel them or we'll be screwed as we have a long haul connection with a different airline. We have avoided flying longhaul with them for years due to horrendous experiences in the past but they more or less have a monopoly on internal flights here.

Is this definitely happening this weekend?

I heard that they have to give 2 weeks prior warning of strike dates. They are still arguing with the company whether to strike.
