AIBU to dread the summer holidays?

Don't get me wrong it's nice to spend time with the kids but all this weekend they have driven me insane (they broke up for summer on Thursday). This is only the beginning!!

Arguing, fighting, crying, making drinks and snacks 24/7.

I've been so stressed out with it all today and I looked forward to them all being in bed and having a bit of me time. Glass of wine, chocolate, face mask and a movie. But my 1 year old DD is STILL awake and I don't get my evening. DP isn't here so I'm on my own with 4 DC including my 14 year old SDD who doesn't help out at all.

The house is a mess and I just can't relax!!

God help me

Oh op, just wait for the smug posters to come on and ask why you bothered to have kids if you don't love spending every waking minute with them!

Anyway yanbu...it sounds exhausting. How old are they all. I have two...8 & 11. I don't find the summer holidays easy. Very expensive, tricky to find activities they both enjoy and lots or arguing and yes, the endless requests for food.

I'm trying to plan each day, so we have some structure and don't all have a complete meltdown!

Good luck Wine

Trying to plan a few things too. I don't get me wrong, I love my kids and I can't imagine my life without them. They're 7, 5 and 1 and then a 14 year old SDD.
I have the sticker charts out so we'll see how well they pan out. Being a parent is exhausting and I do feel bad for feeling like this because it's not their fault, they're little humans with feeling too at the end of the day. I just don't want to spend all summer losing my rag and pulling my hair out.
DP works a lot and is hardly home and when he is he does nothing to help out at all. In fact the only one who helps me do day to day things is the baby. She likes telling herself she's a "good girl" lol

Oh well, I'm not the only one I'm sure. Here's to us mums going insane trying to keep the little people we have made happy Wine
I can do this!! WE can do this lol
