To ask for tips for child abroad with a broken arm

My dd (9) broke her arm (above the elbow) a few weeks ago and is due to have the cast off and the k wires out the day before we fly abroad. I really don’t know what happens next. The hospital have said she’ll be fine to fly but she won’t be able to get her arm wet. I have a couple of protectors for her to shower and paddle in the sea. What I can’t seem to find any info on is what happens after the wires are taken out. Do they recast or just bandage and a sling? Any tips are really welcome. 🙂

You can get plastic cast/limb covers which have a watertight seal. Whether she's still in a cast or just has dressings I'd recommend getting one. My son used one in the pool on holiday a few years ago and they work really well.

Remember to update your insurers after the final fracture clinic before departure and pay any additional premium on the spot.

Thanks for the replies. I have a couple of Limbo covers and they seem pretty watertight. The doctor has said not to let her go in the pool.
The insurers have said I don’t need to contact them again as the holiday and insurance were purchased before she did it and that I didn’t really need to inform them. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I always thought it was better to tell them these sort of things incase there were further complications.
