to think that Monday is not 'a time that is least disruptive to our customers' to update online banking and telephone systems?

Grrr. Didn't bother transferring money on the weekend as we were going to use CHAPS and therefore it wouldn't go out til today anyway (stupid antiquated system) but IF (Intelligent Finance) has decided that today would be a good time to update their systems.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was a temporary fault but this is the message (has been up all day):

We are currently updating our online banking and telephone systems.

When planning this activity, we try and select a time that is least disruptive to our customers.

Normal banking services will resume later today.

We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Seriously? Not in the middle of the night (like most other banks)? Or even at the weekend which isn't actually a 'working day' anyway?

This is my first AIBU thread .
What do you all think? AIBU?

No, not at all, the stupid feckers. Which bank, btw?

More significantly I would imagine that the day befoer most poeple seem to get paid isn't a least disruptive day

YANBU

Bank is Intelligent Finance - ha

Have just rung. None of the customer service people can log in at the mo. But it was planned for yesterday and has taken too long... But no transfer today - and anyway we have now missed the cut-off point ( the systems came on for an hour when I could have rung ). Customer service lady very nice but am at ridiculous old-fashioned rules. FFS its all electronic payments, what is with the 5 working day malarky?! (Would mind less if they just charged us to transfer it instantly). Its all lies. And its all only a stress cos of stupid Lloyds TSb refusing to accept a debit card for a balance. AAAAGH have had it with banks and their lies lies lies. Its like banging your head on a brick wall.

sadly electronic payments take 5 days to meander their way from one account to another because they go via the banks highly lucrative investments to make them a pile of cash on their way.
v annoying though, and YANBU

Well yes, exactly. But I wish they were upfront about it. Id still rather pay 50p a transaction (which I am sure would be more than the interest anyway) but have an immediate transfer that wasn't ALL LIES.

absolutely agree - I have flummoxed call centre staff before when chasing transfers by talking about the huge amounts of interest they are earning on my money while it moves, v amusing to listen to them floundering for what to say!
