Upcoming holiday bad reviews

I'm due to go on holiday at the start of August with Dh, Dd 13 and Dd 10. We booked a package holiday deal to Palmaniva, Majorca in August last year, reviews were all good but today i've just looked on trip advisor to lots of reviews, slating it. They say its not family friendly, full of groups of young adults who are noisy and take over the pool etc.
My AIBU is that Dh wants to cancel as he thinks we'll have a rubbish time, i still want to go as we are only 200m from the beach so we can go there daily instead of the pool, its self catering so we can eat out every night and it's s only a week so I'm sure we can manage some broken sleep.

I'm in Palma nova right now not far from those apartments and they look fine. From there are loads of young groups but I haven't seen any trouble so far.
We're in a 'family' hotel and there are lots of young guys I groups here and to be honest we've hardly heard them. We've been disturbed more by screaming kids whose parents seem to forget that they are not the only ones on holiday and let them run riot up and down the corridors at all time of day and night

@floribunda18
Did you not read the OP before posting?

She DID check the reviews before booking.

Please don’t cancel your holiday. We almost cancelled our honeymoon after the hotel received a tirade of nothing short of horrific reviews, when previously they’d be exemplary. We tried to change accommodation, even rang citizens advice/trading standards as some reviews suggested danger to health. It was going to cost a fortune to amend/cancel, so we went... literally felt like I was walking the plank getting on that plane!

What followed was a blissful week of sunshine and relaxation, yes minor issues were noted but the reviews had massively exaggerated the true facts... we had an amazing time and would return without doubt! I imagine if there is a rowdy group there they’ll be long gone by the time you arrive.

It's worth checking that the reviews are real - if you click on the reviewer you can see how many reviews they have left and if they look real. Either last year's good reviews were fake (lots of 1 or 2 reviews per reviewer), competitors are posting fake bad reviews, or it has actually gone downhill, I don't think I would go if the reviews slated all of it, but you can always make the best of it. I wouldn't go anywhere where people have said it is dirty and everyone got food poisoning, but a bit of noise isn't too much of a problem.

No way would i cancel the holiday so close to going.

Few years back we went to Turkey to the best trip advisor rated hotel in the resort it has been forever rebranded by us Chav Valley as it was rough as you like.

Everyone has different expectations and standards and different experiences so I think as others have said you do need to take reviews with a pinch of salt and go with an open mind.
