To buy a stick on bra

HappyHippy45 · 17/07/2019 17:50

Just learned these are an actual thing and considering buying one. Due to MS symptoms I can't wear anything constricting round my ribs....not even a very well worn, too big for me sports bra.

I feel a bit self concious out and about when I'm not wearing one in the summer where I can't just be hidden underneath lots of layers. I'm in my late 40s, so yeah....everything is heading south.
I'm pretty small so it wouldn't have much of a load to bear but do they actually stick and stay stuck? ......and are there waterproof ones?
I've got a swim tshirt and leggings(shaving legs and pits not big on my list of priorities due to disability)...so yeah I'd like to feel slightly less self conscious wearing that. TIA

I wore one on my wedding day and it was brilliant. Give it a try, you’ve got nothing to lose.

HappyHippy45 · 17/07/2019 18:07

That's me sold! Thanks. I read loads of reviews but am pretty sceptical about reviews.
I suppose I could take a shower with one one to see if it's waterproof Grin

Heeeey!

I've just bought one too and am waiting for it to arrive.

I'm a 46c.

So we shall see!

Alienspaceship · 17/07/2019 19:56

They’re really good!

silvercuckoo · 17/07/2019 19:57

You can do a kardashians builders tape trick too, much more reliable.

MrsGarethSouthgate · 17/07/2019 19:58

Which company are they from? I've seen some pop-up ads on line today, but they were American companies.

PicaK · 17/07/2019 19:59

I keep wondering if they only work once or you can't wash them. Fed up of my bra digging in or straps falling down so eyeing them up longingly

WatchingTheWheels85 · 17/07/2019 20:00

What's the builders tape trick?

DogbertDogglesworth · 17/07/2019 20:01

I've never heard of them 😕

speakout · 17/07/2019 20:05

Primark sell them.

My DD (19) wears them under skimpy ballet costumes. The "sticky" is more of a gel than sticky tape and loses its stickiness after a few washes/wears.
But for special ocassions worth it.

So just like a bra cup, no straps at all. Works best undertight fitting clothes to hold them in place, in my DDs case a lycra leotard or similar.

LikeTheFruit · 17/07/2019 20:10

I got one for my wedding. It's an Invisibra. Worn it loads. It's got gel like sticky cups. Can wear a few days in a row on clean skin then stick will start to go. Just was under tap with soapy water and let dry and it'll be sticky again.

GingerRogers84 · 17/07/2019 20:16

Try Bare Lifts! They are papery stick on things. You can get decent cheap versions on eBay.

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 17/07/2019 20:21

Primark do a stick on bra for a fiver if you want to try and cheap version before investing in something better. I bought one recently and under a vest top it’s perfect. Not so good under a loose top though. Kept thinking one might drop to the floor Blush

DogbertDogglesworth · 17/07/2019 20:35

I'm even more confused now. 😕
Are they just like bra cups? Triangular bits of sticky material?
Are they supportive like a normal bra?

speakout · 17/07/2019 21:03

No, not triangular, but just rounded cups. Like two shells that cup the breasts, not joined together, no sides or shoulder strapas. imagine half a grapefruit with the flesh scooped out. Covers the breast only.
No not much support at all, no good for large breasts or ones that need a lift up, Not good under loose clothing.

Good for smaller breasts under tight clothing if you want a little uniformity of shape, don't want to have nipples making themselves obvious or if you are wearing a slightly transparent fabric.

HappyHippy45 · 17/07/2019 22:24

Thanks for all the feedback. Thought I'd ask on here to get an honest opinion. The ones I saw were bunny shaped ones which give support...
I don't think I'd be very confident wearing a loose untucked shirt though to begin with lol. My god can you imagine Grin Shock Dropping your stick on bra in the supermarket queue or worse

DD's is from primark

MamaOomMowWow · 17/07/2019 23:32

Would something like this work OP (although hopefully there might be something similar but cheaper!!)

Lurleene · 17/07/2019 23:37

I noticed earlier today that they were selling JML one's in Wilko for 4.99.
I'm not brave enough to try myself, I need a scaffolding rig.

user1486131602 · 17/07/2019 23:39

DONT buy one!
My daughter bought one for her prom from boux ave, £25 it didn’t stay put, it popped off and out of the front of her dress at the dinner table.
She a small size 8 so if you have bigger boobs, waist of time and money!

AquaPris · 18/07/2019 00:28

They've been selling these for over a decade, interesting that so many have never heard of them. I had one when I was 14!

MrsGarethSouthgate · 18/07/2019 13:20

I have bitten the bullet and ordered two pairs of these from Amazon. Being large of nork I am apprehensive as to their ability to defy gravity, but am willing to give it a shot and report back in a couple of weeks.

MrsGarethSouthgate

I am an H cup, and have just invested similarly!

I think that the position most bras try to put your boobs in is unnatural and often unattractive, let alone being back breaking for the nork-endowed amongst us.

Even sports bras are often designed to give a good shape or lift when I just want the damn things strapped down firmly!

I find Freya Fancies bralettes give nice gentle shape and lift, don't strain my back, and just make it look like I have normal, undrooped boobs. So long as I'm not going for a run, I don't care that they have a little natural movement in them!

MrsGarethSouthgate · 19/07/2019 21:28

They have arrived...

I am working a 10 hour shift tomorrow in a hot office, so will try them out and report back.

They're very good if you haven't got too much to hold up (there's a hilarious and very sweary video on Facebook of a well proportioned lady attempting to hoik her fabulously large bosom up with one). Brace yourself for the removal though as it feels like your nipples may be extracted with it.
