To find this very nostalgic

The other day I drove past trago mills Newton abbot and got loads of flashbacks of it from when i went as a child. I just looked it up and it felt sooo nostalgic looking at photos of it. BUT isn't it such a weird place?!
I dont know why i just find it so odd. I wonder if they're still so old fashioned inside. I remember the Newton abbot one had loads of outdoor rides and stuff for kids.
What an odd place. Please tell me you also find trago mills very odd?Grin

Also peacocks wondering the grounds. So so odd!

I've only been to the new one in Merthyr Tydfil. I love it as it's like The Range but cheaper. There is a mobile fruit and veg van and a butchers van near the entrance. There is also a children's play zone but what I find odd is a band stand on the pedestrianised area with no band just benches so you can eat your packed lunch.

My DP calls it the Palace of Plenty Grin.

I'm unreasonably attached to Trago. My family live in Falmouth and once my grandparents needed a new garden gate. We'd never seen any garden gates for sale in Trago, but my grandad was adamant that they'd have them somewhere. So we went down and asked if they had any. "Ah yes," said the guy, "they're in the Gate Room" and he took us to a previously unseen and tightly locked room, where there were various garden gates hanging on the walls. So we chose one, he re-locked the Gate Room, and that was that.

We have never managed to find the Gate Room since, but then we've never needed another garden gate. I like to think it was sort of like the Room Of Requirement.

Our grandchildren love Trago and it is a fairly cheap day out really, compared to other places. I don't rate the new restaurant though, the old place did a great roast and yummy home made pie, I am always very disappointed by the food in the restaurant now. (And I find it really difficult to get out of the fixed seats at the tables.....)
