My eldest child starts big school in sept and is excited about it. I am emotional about them leaving primary but I have a close relationship with them & hope it will always be that way.

I have been tagged in loads of ‘hold your child’s hand’ for the last time style posts in the last week & I really hate them!!!

I know my child is growing up but I don’t feel like I am losing them!!!! We can’t stop time!

I also feel like I have made the most of every moment as much as is possible in working life with my children- I have no regrets!!

You sure won’t be losing them ever! My son just did his GCSEs and we have a close relationship. He doesn’t need me to literally hold his hand but he does emotionally. He also requires a real hug several times a week - just to show his love.
My 14 year old daughter still holds my hand though..🥰

Because your child won't want to hold your hand/be in public with you/barely acknowledge you at times as they get older and the teenage years take hold - people are being nice

At the moment my 11 year old still wants to sleep in my bed too so I am making the most of that too!! I get why the memes are there but I find them maudlin!
