To be in such a state about a mole on my back

I have huge health anxiety and I’m struggling at the moment as my dad is suffering from skin cancer. I’ve been looking st my back with a mirror and noticed a mole on my back that I haven’t noticed before. I’m 43. I’ve managed to find a beach photo of me 14 years ago and it definitely wasn’t there then. I’ve made a gp appointment but can’t get in for another week. Anyone else had new moles at this age I’ve attached a photo. Do you think it looks worrying?

It looks like a perfectly normal mole.

It looks ok but you need to see a doctor to confirm. I have one on my back that has become ‘scaly’ and had it checked by my doctor.

Best to get it checked, but I’ll bet it’s one of these. I developed several in my 40s.

I've had 2 moles on my shoulder i'd never noticed before removed as they grew bigger, 'just in case' (I measured them every couple of months & they deffo weren't in pics I dug out of me when younger). They came back non cancerous when sent to be tested by GP . I really wouldn't worry, that one looks OK. The advice I had was, if it's uneven rather than flat , very dark, bleeds, grows or has irregular edges with very dark & light bits within , to get it checked.

I developed one like that in my 40's - on my leg - it was perfectly normal. But get it checcked to set your mind at rest. My sister recently had one removed from her back, but hers was very raised and bleeding - it still turned out to be benign.

I think you will be reassured when you go to the docs. so I'd go as soon and get him/her to have a look. They might refer you to dermatology, but again that's nothing to worry about - just precautionary.

As everyone has said get it checked out, and you only have to wait a week for your appointment.

I am not in any way medically trained but that looks ok to me. I have had a number of moles removed due to colour, bleeding, changes in size and moles with uneven surfaces, everyone has been benign thankfully.

Your doing the right thing getting it checked.

I became worried about one on my back - big and raised, dark, I wasn't sure if it was all the same colour and it would itch and bleed sometimes. They removed it, turned out it wasn't cancer. Yours looks fine but get it checked to out your mind at rest.
