AIBU to ask for your laparoscopy recovery stories...

Had a laparoscopy and cystoscopy a couple of days ago. Was still really very woozy and disorientated when discharged so other than being given antibiotics I don’t know what they did or found; I also don’t really know how I should be feeling... anyone happy to share their experiences?

I’m feeling all a bit sore and sorry for myself today. No shoulder tip pain ( took the peppermint tea advice on other threads) but my ribs and under my arms feel bruised, especially when I inhale. AIBU to just want to curl up and sleep still? I feel like I should be up and moving (and I have been a bit) but it’s all so damn painful.

For reference, I have quite a high pain tolerance and am usually quite active and positive but feel knocked flat and weepy by what I’m told is quite a simple procedure to recover from.

Take it slowly, don’t expect to be bouncing back straight away.
There will always be some who were back at work in two days, for some its two weeks depending on what was done internally, but generally a week is a good length of time to be feeling ‘up to’ doing some things like going back to work (not strenuous work).
Anaesthesia can do funny things to some people for days too. Listen to your body - if its saying sleep, then sleep.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
