...is the material item that elevates me to Adult Status?

I thought it was my little glovebox first aid kit but no, it’s the teeny spoon just for my boiled eggs.

I don't know what an egg spoon is. I am clearly not an adult.

SpotlessMind · 12/07/2019 21:28

I have no knowledge of tiny spoons for boiled eggs. I favour a spoon with a broad curve that can sweep around a boiled egg and retrieve it practically whole. For me, adult status was granted when I bought a trivet to put hot pans on.

I felt the same way when I finally got a full set of matching crockery 😉

PositiveVibez · 12/07/2019 21:29

An egg spoon? I thought this was going to be about an egg and spoon race.

kaitlinktm · 12/07/2019 21:35

Mine are like this - better than an ordinary teaspoon.

I am officially an old lady at 48.
I got a set of cake forks.
With chickens adorning them!!

Somersetlady · 12/07/2019 21:48

I feel a little disappointed whenever i have a boiled egg away from home and the hotel has no egg spoon!

I also have an egg pricker to make sure the egg doesnt split a d ruin the egg or make the pan dirty. 6 minutes once pricked from room temperature is perfection for me!

scoobyd2 · 12/07/2019 21:49

I have an egg spoon that goes with my egg cup! Does that make me more of an adult? Or possibly less.....??

Oldraver · 12/07/2019 21:50

I have little coffee spoons I bought to use for eggs. I was a bit dischuffed the woman in the shop said to me "Madam does realise these are coffee spoons".

I obviously looked like a heathen who would use them for eggs Grin

scoobyd2 · 12/07/2019 21:50

Bugger, no photo

kaitlinktm · 12/07/2019 21:51

Eggs in cold water, brought to the boil then simmered for 4 minutes. Just right.

Butchyrestingface · 12/07/2019 21:51

I felt this way when I bought travel cutlery.

I is proper adulting at last. 😊

GlamGiraffe · 12/07/2019 21:53

I have a canteen of wondrous cutleru. It gas tiny spoons. Appatently these are claddifiex as both egg or coffee spoons. We have numerous weapons/implements in it. I have to admit even I'm not sure what on earth some are for.
I think my samurai style Damascus steel japanese knives are my most grown up items. No one else is allowed to touch those!

summerofladybird · 12/07/2019 21:57

Tony Robinson had a egg spoon from his childhood, he buried it near the source of the Thames as an offering to the river.

CherryPavlova · 12/07/2019 22:02

No egg spoons are given with silver egg cups as christening gifts, so a thing of the nursery. Nothing to do with adulthood.
