To go out in pj bottoms?

QuestionableMouse · 11/07/2019 10:40

I've managed to put every pair of jeans I own in the wash at the same time. I really need to go out to pick a prescription up and have the choice between my plain black pj bottoms (clean!) or my work trousers which are manky from last night and need washing.

Pj's are completely black haram style trousers.

its rank imo, surely you have some other bottoms to put on.
Id rather dirty jeans than pjs.

Enclume · 11/07/2019 10:42

If I still had the boobs for it, I would certainly go out wearing just pj bottoms.

ArtichokeAardvark · 11/07/2019 10:43

If they are clean (as in you didn't sleep in them last night) and they could pass as normal trousers, then I'd wear PJs. It's only grim when you see people who've clearly rolled straight out of bed and headed to the shops without bothering to get dressed!

QuestionableMouse · 11/07/2019 10:43

They're clean and are basically just black trousers.

All jeans are currently in the middle of a wash cycle that has 90 mins left.

An appropriate top will be applied too. 😂

When you say manky, do you mean covered in food or just that you've worn them once?

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 11/07/2019 10:44

Do it op. No one, bar people on MN, will give a flying fuckeroo.

Feelingpoorlysick · 11/07/2019 10:45

I don't see a problem with it. I doubt I'd even notice if someone was wearing black pj bottoms.

QuestionableMouse · 11/07/2019 10:46

@ItIsWhatItIsInnit well I managed to drop a milkshake down then just before I left so they're in dire need of washing.

Ah right fair enough!

In that case, black PJ bottoms are fine! I have actual harem pants that people have taken the piss out of saying they look like PJs, so they're interchangeable anyway. Unless they're pink and printed with sheep going "zzzzz" (yes I have some like this....) you'll be fine :)

MonstranceClock · 11/07/2019 10:52

I go out in pj bottoms all the time. None of mine actually look like Pj's thankfully, they're just harem style trousers.

MindyStClair · 11/07/2019 10:54

If you’re just going to the chemist nobody will care either way - especially if the pjs look like yoga pants.

QuestionableMouse · 11/07/2019 10:54

Must admit it feels super weird to be in the car in pj bottoms. 😂

As a side note, I'm currently visiting my mum somewhere warmer and a lot of women wear this style of trousers as they're nice and cool. I'd say it's fine!

zingally · 11/07/2019 11:00

Go for it. If they're literally just black trousers, no one will even blink. And frankly, I'm sure pharmacists are used to people rocking up in assorted strange outfits!

It's when you see people in cutesy flannel style bottoms, with checks, or cats on (so OBVIOUSLY PJs) that I cringe.

Bananallama858 · 11/07/2019 11:02

what about a dress/skirt/jumpsuit?

that25cUKHeatwaveof2019 · 11/07/2019 11:09

you need more clothes!

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 11/07/2019 11:13

I think it’s fine. Especially to a chemist (or doctor’s surgery), I’m sure they get sick people turning up in all sorts.
Tbf, I’m wearing loose cotton non pj bottoms today, so I don’t really see what the difference is.

teaandbiscuits89 · 11/07/2019 11:17

Go for it lol

Nautiloid · 11/07/2019 11:19

I would do it as a one off. You can't tell the difference in a lot of cases. I recently bought a pair of black work trousers online. They look and feel so much like pyjamas I wear them as such. Don't know how they were called office wear.
If you need your meds, you need them. Just don't start wearing pink pjs on the school run.Wink

HellYeah90s · 11/07/2019 11:27

At long as its not a onesie OP Grin

I have gone out in my PJs the odd time, mostly as a lazy student late at night before bed.

NoSauce · 11/07/2019 11:32

Black harem style PJs? Fine

Fluffy Winnie the Pooh PJs? Never.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 11/07/2019 11:34

I'm just finding it a bit odd that your only options are jeans, work trousers or PJs.

Not a single skirt? No joggers/equiv? (I'm a bit odd the other way - no jeans.)

QuestionableMouse · 11/07/2019 12:34

I don't have that many clothes. I hate the feel of joggings and rarely wear skirts so just don't own them. Ditto jumpsuits which I just don't find comfortable.

I actually got a compliment that I looked nice so maybe I should buy some no pj haram trousers. 😂
