Admins of FB groups - too much?

I'm a member of quite a few Facebook groups (mainly regarding food and dogs) and it seems to be a recurring theme that the admins all seem a bit over the top and take their role just a bit too seriously.

Just today on two separate groups I've seen two posts closed for comments because the question had been answered. people were continuing to discuss around it so why the need to close it?

I do understand there needs to be some moderation on these groups but aibu to think that some of these admins are 'jobsworths'?

YADNBU. I think half of them take it as seriously as a paying job. Often seem to be on a "power trip" as well.

I admin a few groups (freebies, sales and pets pages) and I've had to remove absolute nutter admins that have just caused nothing but trouble day in and day out. I've gently explained that if they just quietly delete the bad posts and not start a potential argument with a poster they'd have more success. I regularly remove posts going against page rules and IF they ask why it's gone I ask them if it contravenes the rules and could that be why it's gone. What I don't do it reprimand full grown adults online publicly.

YANBU I think the power goes to their head on these groups.

I got banned from a pet group for keeping my adopted cats name ‘princess’, she’s 7 and knows the name! It must of offended them. I’m no longer on Facebook x
