Aibu to be so stressed about this move?

House selling is stressful. Moving abroad is also stressful. How combine the two!

We sold our house. We’ll exchange later this week hopefully, to complete in 2 weeks time. We will be renting locally and will be moving permanently abroad next year - to a town with a small job market for DHs skills (we need to be in that particular town for personal reasons). DH got an interview through a contact . After the interview, he thinks it’s a great opportunity and we should move now if we get it. This was nearly 2 weeks ago. They still didn’t tell him the outcome.
We are ready to exchange contracts for our house sale, so we’ll have to find a rental soon.
Aibu to be so stressed? What happens if he gets the job after we sign the rental agreement? It’s such a good opportunity, very hard to come by in that town. We can’t afford to pay the landlord for the full term of the rental agreement if we leave.

Would it be an idea, to stay in an air b'n'b or cheap hotel, assuming you expect to know within a few days?

Congratulations on your sale!

Thank you cheesecake53.
We are considering finding temp accommodation but Airbnb’s and hotels are soo bloody expensive around here! I’ll look again thoroughly later today.

As Cheesecake has said you really need short term accommodation until you have certainty about what happens next. It might be expensive but it won't be half as expensive as trying to break a lease! Is there any way of trying to get an answer quickly? Maybe explain your circumstances if there is a HR department or recruitment agency you can contact. Hope all goes well, at one point we had sold our house, DH had had his last day at work and we had our flights to Australia booked and our visas hadn't come through. Most nail biting fortnight of my life!
