To ask for advice on potty training scenario

Do you bring your dcs potty out with you when your potty training?

Where I live the baby changing rooms in the shopping centers are you walk in lock the door behind you change baby or they use toddler sized toilet leave and let the next parent in which I really like but ended up today in a place where it was a shared baby changing room and I wasn't sure was it weird to take the potty out and let dd use it. It was empty when we went in.

She's very new into toilet training and doing brilliant but she's not ready to use the toilet just yet although I'm planning on introducing that in the next week or two. I could have brought her into the toilet but I would have had to leave my buggy outside with the baby in it and that wasn't ideal.

Just wondering what is the correct way I've visions of seeing someone post on mn that a fellow mum was allowing their child pee in a potty in the baby-changing rooms Grin

Thanks

Whatever works for you, if carrying potty is helpful then do it. Trust me no-one will ask you why you have a potty 🤣

That said we got a thing that can be a potty (with bag) or can open up and be a toilet seat and that was really helpful for making the transition. Think it as called the pottette or something.

That sounds really good thanks, I will definitely have a look at that as it have the baby in a year and a half to train so that sounds much better. The potty takes up so much room under the Pram although I carry it in a bag 😂

Have you tried her on the toilet? My daughter was fine using the toilet straight away although she preferred using her potty. I think carrying a potty around is just such a faff. The only time we have taken a potty with us is if we were driving to the woods for a long dog walk where there would be no toilets and we would leave the potty in the car and just ask her if she needed a wee before and after the walk.

I used to take the little toilet seat you put on your normal toilet seat with me, never had a problem with either of my dc using it.
