To be annoyed that my MIL suggest I leave DS alone for the evening

Scenario = going away to stay at B&B with parents in law. They want to go out for a meal. Suggested that as DS doesn't nromally wake up after being put to bed I could leave him on his own in B&B to go out and have meal.

They have had 3 children. Do they have no clue?

I assume the B&B owners woudl be around. But I've never met them and have never left him with anyone else but DH for the evening. Wouldn't want to leave him with strangers.

Fair enough. They sound like my ILs - it's been a very long time since their own dch were small. But then, DH says that when they were little, on holiday he and his sisters were left in the car with a packet of crisps while his parents were in the pub! No doubt that sort of thing was normal when your ILs dch were small.

So, what will you do, then? Seems a shame for you to be stuck in the B&B while they're out. Can you all go, including your DS, and eat early?

B&B owner could also be just about anybody.....don't think they need a CRB check, and well, they still would be strangers...strangers neither party has ever met and build trust too, and possibly they also mihgt not be willing to babysit...they run a B&B not a Babysitting service....

3and - that's true. I'm just trying to think of a way round our heroine sitting alone at night in a B&B with no computer to MN!

Now a possible plan is that they look after ds and me, dh and sil go out. Which is better. Will see how it goes. I've got quite a good book on the go at the moment so staying in wouldn;t be too awful. Possibly easier on the brain than going out.

If you've seen the episode of Black Books where Mannies parent (moo ma and moo pa) come to visit, you'll know what I mean.

Well I suddenly feel a bit calmer now anyway. Thanks for letting me let off steam.
