AIBU to want report damaged parcel to Amazon?

Ordered some glass spice jars from amazon a couple of weeks ago, order said they would be delivered 3rd to 8th July (obviously coming long distance)
However they turned up much quicker around 27th June. Great, except one was broken.
I logged in to report damaged parcel but website wouldn't let me raise a complaint as the projected delivery day was still a week ahead.
Amazon doesn't seem to know that parcel was delivered last week.

How do I report a damaged parcel that they don't think I've received?
Don't want to get our nice local Hermes delivery woman into trouble for not ticking the Delivered box. Also she didn't throw it at my front door as I saw her leave it there from the window.

I’ve always found them very helpful over email. Also you could point out the box wasn't damaged but the contents was to spare the delivery woman a bit. Or say she handed it to you.

Live chat them... Isn't it obvious?

I've phoned them before, their customer service has always been excellent.

Go on amazon live chat and explain. I’ve always found them very generous and helpful with this sort of thing.

Do you need any further assistance whilst you're here? Maybe with tying your shoes or how to get your phone to stop making that annoying ringing sound.

MissConductUS · 03/07/2019 23:38

Can't you ring their customer service dept. in the UK? It's dead easy to contact them in the US and they are always very accommodating.

@Itellpeopletogoogleit I hope to goodness you're not in a customer service role yourself because you're rubbish at it.
Thank you to those who gave advice without being smartarses
