...to think that people shouldn't discuss the endings of books in public?

I was in the coffee shop yesterday, reading a book and an older couple sat down beside me and started talking about the next book in the series. It was obvious either one of both of them hadn't read any of them, because she said to him that it comprised 7 books, how one of her daughters had finished it, and was DYING for I guess her sister to also finish it so they could talk about.

She then went on to tell him how this book finished.

Now I KNOW what happens in the end, but AIBU to think that people shouldn't discuss endings of books in public, especially when there had been so much hype about this book?

Am I the only one who would be annoyed by this situation?

(I know it's only a little thing...)

If I'd heard that and hadn't read the book, I would have said something

Sorry - YABU. Freedom of speech and all that. If you don't want to hear something then either move away, get distracted or ask them to stop (explaining why of course).

Last week, whener my sister went outside she wore her MP3 player really loud, so as to not hear anyting. Lasted a couple of days till she finished it!
