I started dating someone and after a few drinks she told someone in the pub i was was her half girlfriend.
What does this even mean?
I've never heard of it.

It means she thinks very little of you and your relationship.

TheFlis12345 · 01/07/2019 22:36

It’s not a thing.

crispysausagerolls · 01/07/2019 22:36

Was his name Curtis and was it being televised?

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 01/07/2019 22:38

Did she maybe mean like not full on exclusive couple yet but more than just a couple of dates?

Or...ask her what she meant cos we could all sit here and guess but really who knows?!

MaMaMaMySharona · 01/07/2019 22:39

It’s from love island.

Far2go46 · 01/07/2019 22:41

Somewhere between a fuck buddy and a wife?

allyconfused · 01/07/2019 22:44

I had never heard of it before he watches love island, maybe she picked it up from there.
A woman asked how I was and she said she's my half girlfriend.
I assumed you are either a gf or not

And is her brothrr a dancer from strictly!

Yep i clicked on thinking this was going to be a love island thread

I beoieve curtis meant it as a sort of respectful we don't know each other well enough to say its definately a relationship but slightly more than dating.

crispysausagerolls · 01/07/2019 22:48

NaughtToThreeSadOnions

Well I guess he’s only about to half cheat then! 😂

Tink2007 · 01/07/2019 22:49

I thought this was a Love Island thread too.

allyconfused · 01/07/2019 22:50

I don't watch love island so I don't know the characters names.
Do you think it was her way of saying more than dating but not official ?

Perhaps we should seek some help from a professional....... dancer!!! 🤪🤪

MaMaMaMySharona · 02/07/2019 08:17

@pebbleo hahahha!

OP I wouldn't worry about it too much - or perhaps ask them?

Aprillygirl · 02/07/2019 08:45

It is what it is.

BertieBotts · 02/07/2019 08:57

tipofmytonguehelp · 02/07/2019 09:16

Ahahahahah pebbleo

ComtesseDeSpair · 02/07/2019 09:22

If this is the woman you’ve been on a few dates with in a few weeks, I imagine she means that you’ve had a few dates, haven’t had any discussion about where it’s going yet, but that potentially you might become her girlfriend. No, it isn’t “a thing”: most people just say “we’re dating” or “we’re seeing each other.”

You are far, far too overinvested in this woman, you both sound like very poor communicators and it doesn’t sound as if you’re compatible anyway. Continually asking strangers what she means when she says things isn’t going to get you actual answers - you need to either ask her or let this one go.

DaisyYellow · 02/07/2019 09:27

Half girlfriend?! I hope this doesn’t become a thing as it’s a really stupid expression.

allyconfused · 02/07/2019 09:32

@ComtesseDeSpair she just totally messes with my head.
Tells me her friend fancy's her and try's it on but she didn't do anything because of me yet I'm her "half girlfriend " only ...it's just messing with my brain.
