AIBU to not go to work tomorrow

I’ve had a really bad kidney infection and was off tues-thurs came back on Friday and managed to make it through the day but was a big mistake. I’ve been in bed nearly all weekend and think I may need to go back to drs as thought antibiotics should have kicked in by now but feeling worse than ever.
I don’t think I should go in tomorrow with how I’m feeling. I’m a teacher and I just can’t see how I could do it. I’m worried what they’ll think about me being off again as they hate it if you call in sick.
Would I need a drs sick note as not sure if it would be counted as all the days in one lot as it’s for the same illness. The dr who gave me the antibiotics said work shouldn’t ask for one for less than seven days so wouldn’t write one for me. I was worried work would think I was faking.

Don’t go in; your health is more important. Go back to the doctors. Your school should understand that you came back too soon and made yourself worse. It happens.

I’d call in the morning to say you are going back to see your doctor and then ask your doctor for different antibiotics and a note. Technically you don’t need it but as you are worried I wouldn’t mention you went back in for one day.

I hope you feel much better soon.

YANBU, if you are the sickest you’ve been so far then you’re obviously no more fit for work than you were on your first day of absence.

However, it will be classed as two separate episodes of absence so if your employer has a fascist absence management policy then you could be causing yourself a problem if you’re unwell again any time in the near future.

Go back to the doctor.

It really sounds like you need to go back to the GP. Don't go to work!

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 30/06/2019 19:58

Go back to your GP and get a note. Kidneys are important!

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 30/06/2019 19:59

And this time don't go back until you are definitely well enough

Bluerussian · 30/06/2019 20:06

Don't go in, you're not well enough. If you continue to be unwell after a couple more days, return to your GP.

Hope you feel better soon. Flowers

Come on op don't be foolish go back to GP and take the right amount of time off to recover properly.

Perhaps if you had stayed off you would have made a better recovery this time round.
