Ok so I need to know if you think AIBU to feel like I have made a right tit of myself? Confused

Ok so the story goes like this. I needed some pictures printed off my phone, not a problem, into boots I go with phone in hand and ask a staff member for help. She plugs my phone into the computer and it flashes up connecting and shows 700+ so I ask, is it going to download all my pictures as I have 1000s on there. She says probably not. I laugh and say good and then omg it hits me!!! I have indecent pictures on there from other people. So I go ahh!! And say out loud panicking, there is indecent pictures on there!!! Blush

She says looking a little embarrassed, I get it. I was like no, not of me but what other people have sent me. When the pictures did load nothing was there as it was only 10 at a time and seemed to only show pictures I had taken, not been sent. I'm not a bloody prude but yes in a shop full of people with staff standing next to me, I was mortified at the thought of a sodding dick picture popping up on the big screen. Shock

Anyways here I am now hours later feeling like a made a right tit of myself.
Yes I need to sort my phone out as I never delete anything as I am lazy.

I feel so bloody annoyed that men feel the need to send these dick pictures in the first place, I never ask for them!! What do they think I am going todo with a picture! Grrr. Angry

DrinkTaboo · 29/06/2019 02:38

Omg sorry for the angry faces, I did not mean to put them Confused ... I did press other emojis but they have all turned into angry ones.

It's not my day today is it lol.

Delete things.

DrinkTaboo · 29/06/2019 05:40

Yes I need to delete a lot of crap off my phone as I never have. I have had the same memory card for years.

I posted as a rant at myself for being so stupid really. I made such a tit of myself. It just never entered my head until that moment and I panicked. Blush

If you don't like dick pics don't encourage them. Block senders. Delete. Etc.
Hmm

DrinkTaboo · 29/06/2019 06:26

Oh I have never encouraged them Confused and yes I do block and delete the chat but the files stay in my phone in some lost folder.

Again I know I have been lazy to not go through, find and delete all old pictures off my phone. Blush

It's a bit bizarre that you get send unsolicited dick pics and don't delete them...

Snaponlogic · 29/06/2019 06:58

Oh I don’t think you have made a tit of yourself at all...
I’m pretty certain you’re not the only one to stand at those machines & remember there’s photos on there for you eyes only!

I’d like to do that job in Boots, you’d get to see some great insights to people’s private lives..! Lol.
Just forget about it, I’m certain the staff member did within seconds of the next customer, the embarrassed guy asking her where the haemorrhoid cream is kept!

Iliterallycantthinkofanythingq · 29/06/2019 07:14

Some posters are so unnecessarily rude.

OP I'd be embarrassed too but it's not really a big deal. Everyone else probably just thought it was a bit funny. It's not the end of the world!

RhiWrites · 29/06/2019 07:22

Even if OP deletes the photos they remain in your ‘deleted photos’ folder and am be recovered.

IkeaIsForWinners · 29/06/2019 07:50

@Monty27 Oh yeah, blame op for 'encouraging the pics' rather than the pervert who is sending random women pictures of their cock!

plunkplunkfizz · 29/06/2019 08:23

Very surprised you couldn’t spend two minutes deleting the pictures before going into Boots rather than force some poor woman to see them.

dudsville · 29/06/2019 08:27

I bet this happens often so I wouldn't be too concerned.

And I know some formats automatically save pics, so that isn't your fault.

Nor is it your fault people send you dick pics.

I hope you can shake off the experience!

Toodeloo · 29/06/2019 08:44

Just don’t go into a shop next time and if you want pics from your phone use photobox or similar to do it. Sorted.

DrinkTaboo · 29/06/2019 15:11

Thank you all for the nice replies. I know it must read like I was just being a bit dramatic. Yes if I would have remembered I would have not even gone in and plugged my phone in. Blush

To those asking about being sent them in the first place, yes I just get random men sending me a message with a pic sometimes, other times we can be chatting for a bit first. No I don't ask for a pic.

I use dating apps so I guess some could say I should expect it, tbh I don't care at the time and just bin the chat. However these sodding apps have their own folders deep in my phone so these pictures save and tbh I don't always know where! Hmm

I'm sorry if my last statement in my OP offended anyone. I was just annoyed over it all so threw that comment out there. But yes it was 100% my fault and I should have thought about it before just going in boots on a whim for the pictures. I will say I did need the pictures asap as they were proof of damage.

Lol, I will be taking my phone to my friend to scan and delete all offending pictures, as I don't know which folders to delete or without deleting chat history and the like. It's very confusing. Maybe I should move to Iphone. Grin

@IkeaIsForWinners just saying how I see it.
No offence meant at all.
But there you go.
OP you need to learn about your phone.
That's the bit that just doesn't sit with me. Now you've caused yourself almost public embarrassment because you can't be bothered to learn how to use your phone.
That doesn't work in this world OP. You can desist.
It drives me nuts but so many people communicate that way it's not surprising that spams and stuff are going to slip through.
Shock

VivienneHolt · 02/07/2019 06:55

If the pics are being sent to you on WhatsApp or iMessage you can change the settings in both apps so that photos aren’t automatically saved to your phone.

Damntheman · 02/07/2019 10:01

Ah don't worry about it OP! I guarantee you are not the first, nor will you be the last to have this happen to them :D And you likely provided the employees with a great giggle in what was probably a pretty dull day. Own it, don't be embarrassed.
