to think Kick Starters are often insanely unrealistic?

I used to love browsing Kickstarter, some what enjoying the concept of crowdfunding, even though I'm not sure how much I agree with it from a business standpoint (Sort of think you should raise your own capital) but more often than not it seems like these companies have massively overpriced their products.

I've just clicked on to a really interesting looking travel dress that has in built insect repellent only to see that its "Early Bird" offer is £160 with postage.
There's just no way it would survive on the market at that price.

Same with other things i've seen, stuff that has instantly been slashed in price the moment it's reached the public market.

Surely the point is to entice people to back a project with a reduced price?

My OH regularly supports board game Kickstarters and has found that the board games are often released to the public, sometimes at a lower price, before they've even been shipped out to the original backers.
