AIBU to let my nearly 12year old daughter watch Ru Paul? I'm normally quite strict about age restrictions (stricter than friends), and 15's are normally barred. She just loves it so bloody much though... and had already watched a few episodes before i found out its a 15 rating!! What would you do? Thanks

My 9 year old son loves it. He knows there is some bad language, but he also knows not to repeat it. I think the program is good for younger viewers to learn acceptance and respect x

I would say yes - it is full of positive messages about body acceptance and being proud of your individuality.

It’s full of swears but it’s great generally feel good tv - just don’t let her watch untucked 😬

Spaceprincess · 26/06/2019 19:53

My 9 yr old son is also a massive fan.
He knows what swearing is where not to do it (in front of me, anyone who will tell me, school etc).
I also think it's good for acceptance.

Shoxfordian · 26/06/2019 20:10

Yeah I would let her as well

Comefromaway · 26/06/2019 20:12

It’ll be the language.

“good luck and don’t fuck it up”

AlansLeftMoob · 26/06/2019 20:16

Yes, absolutely let her watch it, if she has seen a couple of episodes already then there's nothing more shocking to come.

I was just about to put it on for me as the little ones are down but the oldest is still up, and I had this exact thought process Grin

He’s gone up as too tired anyway but I resolved no because it might lead to questions I couldn’t be bothered to answer right now, I just want to watch my show and not have to talk!
