To ask what you think these pains are

I posted on health a few weeks ago but received no replies so forgive me for posting on here but I know I’m more likely to receive some advice.
To keep it short, I’ve been experiencing pelvic and abdominal pains recently, on either side of my stomach. Best way to describe the pain is as though I’ve just completed the most intense ab workout of my life - it’s like an intense muscle ache. I know I’m not pregnant. Blood tests and swabs came back completely normal, I’m now awaiting an U/S. Taking paracetamol today for the pain, it’s too hot for a hot water bottle but I think I might need to make one anyway! To add, I did miss a period completely which is unusual for me, then approximately 10 days after my period was due, I started bleeding/spotting and I haven’t stopped (it’s been around 3 weeks now). I hope this all makes sense, I didn’t want to overload but also want to avoid missing out important facts. Can anyone relate to these symptoms? Feeling a bit anxious and know I won’t relax until I have the scan.

Ovulation pain? Is it happening in the middle of your cycle?

Bananallama858 · 26/06/2019 15:57

Do you think? To be honest, I’ve just stopped taking the pill so not sure what point I’m at with my cycle. Today the pains aren’t so bad but still bleeding.

I'm glad you are going to have an ultrasound. That will give you answers. Not much point in speculation before that but symptoms you describe are typical of PID and an ectopic pregnancy, both of which can be sorted. However we don't know what it is at the moment.

All the very best, I hope it is something simple.

I had similar symptoms last year and it turned out to be a cyst. I was told cysts occur naturally is most women and usually disappear themselves. I didn’t need any treatment and it lessened over time and within a couple of months symptoms disappeared.

It’s great you’ve got an US booked, but if the pain becomes severe or you get a temperature, you might want to consider getting to your GP.

Good luck Flowers

GP mentioned eptopic pregnancy but I assume pg test would have been pos. Also, the pains haven’t been unbearable to the point where I can’t get through the day. Perhaps it’s cysts. I can’t wait to get an answer. Still worried about the continuous spotting.
