In town, people wearing these T-shirts announcing they are a "Herbivore". AIBU? Why do people need to announce what they eat on a T shirt? Confused

People announce much stranger things than that on tshirts.

LaurieMarlow · 23/06/2019 14:15

You can put whatever you want on a t shirt. Who cares? YABU.

GCAcademic · 23/06/2019 14:17

Nowadays you have to belong to a tribe and stick a label on yourself. Paradoxically, this seems to be what makes one an individual (don't ask me how).

Kpo58 · 23/06/2019 14:28

I'd be tempted to have a t-shirt that read: People who claim to be herbivores are deluded. Humans are omnivores regardless if they eat meat or not.
That might be too much to put on a t-shirt though.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 23/06/2019 14:32

I wear tshirts that say I'm vegan as do my children and husband (not at the same time Grin).

MotherOfSoupDragons · 23/06/2019 14:35

Yuck.

simonisnotme · 23/06/2019 14:38

atm im wearing a shirt that states
'im not getting older im just levelling up' Grin

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 23/06/2019 14:41

Simonisnotme I love that- need one for an upcoming 40th!!

Anarchyshake · 23/06/2019 14:48

Entirely normal.
People wear them to advertise their sport(s), other hobbies, life goals, achievements, all sorts.

Shayne11 · 23/06/2019 14:54

Sounds a bit naff but how will the world know what martyrs they are otherwise ?

WeDontTalkAboutLove · 23/06/2019 15:01

People wear t-shirts that advertise what football team they support, necklaces that indicate religious choices, badges and patches that indicate music preferences. It's completely normal to want to share something you are passionate about.

found it from here

If we were all the same, the world would be a boring place.
DH has one that says I dont watch Xfactor because I'm not a fucking idiot. That got us free drinks at a gig once.

dudsville · 23/06/2019 15:06

I also noticed that others seem to not live according to my rules . What gives?

SoupDragon · 23/06/2019 15:09

"People" seems to imply there was a group of them so I would assume they came from some kind if demo or something. It's no worse than advertising what shop you buy your clothes from or any other slogan on a t shirt though.

SilverySurfer · 23/06/2019 15:32

I want one that says 'I love fat, juicy steaks.' I want so many of those simonisnotme and they will be gone forever in about 6 hours, I am panic buying Grin

Just leaving this here.....

jeddie16 · 23/06/2019 16:33

Who cares?

QueenoftheBiscuitTin · 23/06/2019 16:47

Lots of people put random things on t-shirts, it doesn't hurt anyone.

Meowington · 24/06/2019 15:32

Being a herbivore aka vegan is a moral position. Imagine 56 BILLION dogs and cats being slaughtered a year for meat! There would be public outrage (as there is over the Yulin dog meat festival). Vegans feel for cows, chickens and pigs the way most people feel for dogs and cats.

We shout about it anyway we can. If it’s gotten your attention it shows it works.
