To want to write a book

Eric Sarle has sold over 50million copies of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It's only about 10 lines of text. So how hard can it be?

Surely most of us should be able to come up with 10 lines that are so good that everyone wants to read them. But I can't! I've been trying for years.

What would you like to do that feels like it should be really easy?

I'd like to get a PhD, and climb Mount Kilimanjaro. I mean, people do both of those things all the time! How hard can they be? Wink

Well, the book's written (for me anyway) but it's finding the beta readers, agents and publishers which is the problem! And all of the bloody vanity publishers... not bitter at all...

Well I think getting a phd is a bit different to coming up with 10 lines of text. I want to get rich quick not after 10/15 years of work/study
