...to find alternatives to bleach

Hi all.
I've found lately that bleach is a major irritant for me. I'm just getting over a really bad chest infection and even the whiff of it has me in a wheezing heap.
So I would like to pick your brains on the alternatives...where do you use them and how effective they are?

I don't own bleach either. Occasionally use a bit of ecover or vinegar on the toilet. Mostly use hot soapy water.

Freshly boiled water for cloths is fine - I soak mine for 15 mins or you could actually boil them in a pan although the smell is rank.

Then wash as normal.

Think logically about germs - what surfaces are you touching with your hands and how could germs actually transmit....

I only have bleach for the toilet and even then only for really heavy stains or sickness bugs.
