To think Boris may be sabotaging his chances at PM deliberately?

Today’s headlines about police being called to his flat after a domestic incident have made me wonder.
Boris isn’t stupid enough to do anything to.risk his chances of no10 if he really wanted it. I suspect he knows full well he can’t deliver Brexit and wouldn’t want to be associated with the carnage a hard Brexit will cause. Better off letting Hunt deal with all of that and stepping in afterwards?

I was rather hoping it was fake news and that his PM dreams die by the same tactics that he employs himself. That would be more satisfying tbh.

WhiteDust · 22/06/2019 07:07

I think the same!
He campaigned for Brexit and when 'the nation' voted for it he was nowhere to be seen.
I think he'll do the same here. It's the game/ chase he likes.

thatone · 22/06/2019 07:08

I'm not sure that the fracas was deliberate, but I agree that he can't do 'No Deal' as he keeps promising,

GCAcademic · 22/06/2019 07:09

If anything, this will boost his popularity. He knows how populism works. Look at the pussy grabber across the pond.

HeronLanyon · 22/06/2019 07:09

Interesting. Definitely wouldn’t put it past him.

DpWm · 22/06/2019 07:09

Would this incident actually put the Tories off from voting for him though?

Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:10

hmm i disagree, i dont think he controls or manipulates anything. there is no master plan.
everything from his family life to his cv suggests he is unpredictable, spontaneous, lack of responsibility, feckless.

Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:11

Would this incident actually put the Tories off from voting for him though?

exactly. this is not bad for johnson- the tories/brexiteers like a 'strong' man.

DpWm · 22/06/2019 07:11

he can't do 'No Deal' as he keeps promising
He has no intention to deliver Brexit. With bojo we're probably more likely to Remain.

Fleetheart · 22/06/2019 07:12

Yes, a good theory. Especially as she is a PR guru. It seems surprising that she would be naive enough to allow something like this to happen. Maybe it’s staged.

Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:13

people really do believe boris is all-knowing and powerful.

can i ask why?

PJLove80 · 22/06/2019 07:14

I would have thought the carelessness of having the police called to a domestic dispute would be seen as a problem to the Tory faithful - very indiscreet and I think it’s that, that would be the issue.

PJLove80 · 22/06/2019 07:15

And it’s her PR background that got me thinking....

DaisyCarrington · 22/06/2019 07:15

He's secretly a socialist and is part of a massive plot to bring down the Conservative Party.
That's my guess.

Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:16
Grin
Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:17

do you think the waste of garden bridge or the water canons were all staged? the comments about nazanin - or the comments about bum boys or pillar boxes? all the many affairs and children he wont admit to?

all signs of a carefully staged cunning master-plan?

WhiteDust · 22/06/2019 07:22

In my dreams I'm hoping that the Tories are hatching a plan to use BJ as a Brexit failure scapegoat.
He started it so he can finish it.

Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:30

so tbc, the idea is: boris and his gf thought -

'i dont really want the hassle of being pm so im going to stage something that will really put the tory faithful off me...i know a domestic violence incident! what better way to stop cons party members from voting for me?! we know how much they hate violence against women'

Grin

yup definitely staged.

givemesteel · 22/06/2019 07:37

No, it's the opposite.

This is just a desperate attempt from the left to smear Boris as they're terrified he'll actually get Brexit through and then win a majority in a GE.

Of the final two they'd much prefer Hunt as a remainer who will fanny about like TM which will lead to another extension, thus killing the Conservative party for good.

I mean how low does this neighbour have to go...so concerned about her welfare that they tape the domestic and send it to the Guardian....

Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:43

you see- this is how the tory/brexiteers think now.

they actually like the idea of bj intimidating his young gf. it shows 'strength'

Helmetbymidnight · 22/06/2019 07:47

I mean how low does this neighbour have to go...

Grin Grin

theyre furious with the neighbour for not protecting the innocent boris.

WhiteDust · 22/06/2019 07:52

I don't believe BJ really wants to be PM.
I doubt he can be arsed with the job in reality, doesn't need to work.
He wants to 'win' the race. Any race.
It's the competition he likes.

Maybe that's what the senior Tories know.
BJ doesn't actually give a shit and with him as their leader, they are free to do whatever they like.

Littlekittystops · 22/06/2019 07:53

It’s a non story and the conservative members will see it as such.
