Ebay postage not paid?

Sorry, I didn't know where to post this. So I ordered an item a few weeks ago off ebay, card came saying I have to go collect it and pay postage as postage was not paid on their end.
I paid £3 postage to them, so messaged seller about this, they apologised and said they had refunded it to my Paypal. I accepted this, but checking 3 days later there is still no refund.

I messaged seller again and they said I apparently have to 'close the case' first or else they are unable to refund the postage.

Their english was also quite bad which isn't reassuring. I've never been in this situation before, do I actually need to close the case or is this just a scam so that I won't have a leg to stand on with ebay?

I know it's only £3 but it's more about the principle when I have already paid for it, so I don't see why I should pay twice. Thanks!

No DO NOT close case. Wait until eBay steps in or you see your refund in your account.

Thank you! So there is no way to report this message to ebay it seems, I just have to wait until they step in?

Classic ebay scam, I'm afraid - if you close the case the seller's not obliged to do anything further about it

If they sent the message via ebay you can certainly report it, but don't expect them to do much about the message itself (and certainly not if it's a big seller who earns them a lot of commission)

Don't close the case! Contact eBay (from the listing page if I remember rightly)
