Baby is finally asleep. Dh is sending emails. I thought I would sit down and watch what I want to watch on Netflix for the first time in.... I don't know. I started watching a film when my DM was here two weeks ago. We got halfway through and then paused it for the night. Then dh said he actually didn't like the film so I said I'd watch it myself. Fine. Cut to two weeks later, I am all set to have some me TV time and the fucking xbox needs an update. It's been 8 mins and the update is 6% complete. I want to cry. Fucking bastard xbox

Can’t you unplug the Xbox and just use the TV?

Or read a book I suppose. I had wanted to watch the end of something I started already. But I have taken a deep breath and calmed down. The xbox is still updating but I am happy to say I have not thrown anything at it!

Why is the Xbox update preventing your from watching TV?

I'm assuming op accesses Netflix through the Xbox.

I hate this too. I watch netflix and amazon prime tv on my xbox. The absolute worst (and inevitable) time for an update is when I want to put a film on for the DC so I can have five minutes to myself and it spends 40 fucking minutes updating first.....

I really think they should warn you that an update is coming so you can choose a convenient point in your day /week to update. I checked and it had moved to a crappy 24% update complete so I'm just going to bed. The film will have to wait. Sigh

It's bloody annoying, but it sometimes jumps to nearly done all of a sudden so it's hard to tell how long it'll actually take. It's rubbish when you're looking forward to watching something.
