House move meant I had to get rid of my (too) large range cooker and buy a new one instead.
After mess up with delivery, it has taken nearly 4 weeks to get to this point.
Have survived on sandwiches and the odd slow cooked casserole.
Daughter has had a lot of takeaways.
So, am off to the supermarket as soon as plumber leaves.
What shall I cook to celebrate. It is just the 2 of us in the house.
All ideas gratefully received.
Cant wait

piefacedClique · 18/06/2019 13:54

I second a roast!

Okeycokey1 · 18/06/2019 13:54

Ooh I would make a roast just as it uses nearly every element of the oven - but that may be a bit ott for a Tuesday Grin

Buscake · 18/06/2019 13:55

If it was me I also would make a roast! Enjoy

hazell42 · 18/06/2019 13:57

Oh God a roast! I have been dreaming of chicken dinners
Puts tuna sandwiches in the shade!

I dont know how to make parkin but my new local shop sells pudding rice, which I haven't seen in years.
Bought some of that whilst ingratiating myself with the locals.
That is tomorrow's pudding sorted

The first thing that popped into my head was a good old sausage butty Grin Chicken sounds lovely and rice pud - mmm...

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/06/2019 14:51

I would have toad in the hole

beela · 18/06/2019 14:56

Cake.

hazell42 · 18/06/2019 14:58

I like the idea of cake!

Chicken today, cake tomorrow. Cake is an excellent way of checking your oven is working evenly so its a job you just have to do.

Yogurtcoveredricecake · 18/06/2019 15:00

Roast and a cake

MissBehaves · 18/06/2019 15:02

Definitely a roast mmmmmm

Disaster! Lovely plumber has been here hours to plumb in my cooker washing machine and dishwasher.
To date we have found:
The brand new gas cooker (which came with a plug) has to be hardwired into socket, and the socket is not there
Dishwasher has had plug cut off (movers must have done this as old dishwasher) and I do not have a spare plug in the house.
He is working on washing machine now and swearing gently under his breath.
No roast dinner for me
Gutted.
Its a lovely house, but it is lacking a few mod cons

Any toast oven news? Hope you’re tucking into something lovely @hazell42

Jamhandprints · 19/06/2019 19:37

If its just two of you then toad in the hole. My oven was broken for a couple of months and my first meal in the new one was a roast.

Userplusnumbers · 19/06/2019 19:39

I'd be doing a fry up - sausages in the oven, bacon under the grill, eggs on the hob!

AdaColeman · 19/06/2019 19:46

Take a plug off something else that you are not using today, hairdryer, lamp, food mixer for example,
