Can you maybe post about your career paths here and give me some inspiration? What do you like about your job? How did you get where you are?
I'm finally in a position where I can go back into education and ideally find my perfect career.. but I don't know what to do!
I was fairly bright at school, did really well and enjoyed education but a lot of problems with my home life meant I never did much from leaving school. My main goal was just to leave home and then hope everything would fall into place. I enjoyed most subjects at school but I really excelled in English, science, history and religious/ social type studies. I had ambitions of going on to do law or maybe a health related role (Dr or pharmacy type role, I was young and ambitious then!) And these things do still interest me, I just feel so lost trying to pursue a specific career. Some days I wake up and think may be I could go into social care, others I ponder over a career in forensic science. There's so many jobs I find interesting and I would love to study further in those areas but I just can't pin point exactly which one
I'm so fed up of working the same dead end jobs with no hope of a promotion because employers want a degree before they will either consider me for anything higher than a minimum wage, entry level role.
Has anyone any wise words about going back to into education as a mature student? Now the timing is right I need to get cracking before I start feeling like I have left it too late!
