To think this leather is fake?!

Fortunately these cushions were free so I haven’t wasted any money but I was lead to believe they were real leather.

I absolutely love them and had them about a year, I’ve just noticed these patches of wear on the edge of some of them.

Does real leather wear like this or are they artificial leather?
Anyone know??

Yes of course leather can wear like that. You can usually tell from the smell or the inside if it's leather....but does it really matter ?

Definately matters!
I try to avoid plastic and stick to natural fabric, plus I once had quite an expensive ‘leather’ bag that started flaking off and at first I was going to pay for repairs until I realised I could see fabric underneath as it was bonded leather!
I wouldn’t get rid of the cushions if they were fake as I love them, but I would definately prefer real leather over fake (plastic) or bonded

That’s just the colour coming off. Leather isn’t always tanned in its ultimate colour and even when it is fading can occur.

Obviously different lighting etc and I think I'm a lot older but my hands have doppelgängers
