to call on Peugeot owners?

Engine light came on (exclamation mark inside triangle).

Says engine repair needed.

Eco mode (stop start) has deactivated.

I know this could be a number of issues. Has anyone ever come across this and not had to pay a fortune to fix?

I'm strapped for cash but need my car!

Do you have breakdown cover?
If so, call them out.
Engine management lights could be any number of different things, get it checked before worrying about the overall price.
Breakdown peeps could do a free code read, if you take it to a garage ask for a price on diagnostic before leaving car there.

It probably has an additional battery to run the stop/start system and the battery for that has died. If so, just a new battery, about £50.

Could be something more serious though.

I had a Peugeot for many years with warning lights of one kind or another. I think nearly all of them were the sensors failing rather than the part.
