with my neighbour's washing machine?

We live in an apartment block with all the flats on the lower floors having reinforced concrete flooring which is great for noise insulating. Unfortunately the people in the penthouse don't have this which results in noise transfer to us (all part and parcel of living in an apartment which we are used to!).

However, they recently had a new utility built over our bedrooms (after acknowledging their previous built in washer/dryer was a noise nuisance) which results in their washing machine and dryer shaking our whole bedroom and causing a real racket. I've been in a similar position before (being the upstairs neighbour) and was really conscious of the noise affecting downstairs so installed anti-vibration feet and mats under our appliances which helped.

AIBU to offer to purchase these for our upstairs neighbour?

I think your first action is to ask them to buy the anti-vibration feet and mats.

YANBU. When we moved into the current rental, we were told our machine was making too much noise, so purchased and used an anti vibration mat. It wasn't a problem to do so.
