Yellow tea in pregnancy?

Hi girls,

I just took a pregnancy test (Clearblue), and apparently there is a little + in there Shock Smile Smile

So the thing is, I bought a lot of yellow tea for weight loss. But now I am not sure if I should drink it or not. I dint't find anything about it on Google honestly, and probably a better place to ask is here. Do you know if yellow it is a good or bad idea during pregnancy?

Thanks!

Congratulations!

I wouldn't drink it until I talked to my doctor. Presumably you're not going to be looking to lose weight now anyway. Just concentrate on eating healthy, and go get yourself some prenatal vitamins ASAP.

If you're not sure then don't.

Congratulations!

Weight loss teas work by ‘stimulating digestion’ in a similar way to laxatives . This can be dangerous in early pregnancy because the contractions caused could cause womb contractions too which if you have certain conditions can cause a miscarriage. Further along in pregnancy they cause your baby not to get the nutrients it needs. So avoid.

Avoid. Also don't be taken in by them - the laxative effect only clears out the 2-5lb of stuff in your gut, it doesn't reduce your actual weight at all! You'll put it back on as soon as you put more food in your digestive system. Total con.

Thanks girls! Alright then, I'm definitely staying away.
