I am pregnant had my 12 week bloods done last mon for HIV syphillis etc I was told they’d ring me if any issues from a with held number...

Today 8 days later I missed a call at 4.30pm from a with held number 😭😭 I rang the antenatal clinic in a panic but they said no one there had rang me but she said she had no access to a computer so could t see my results

I am not panicking somethings wrong

The reason I have myself in a panic is that I had unprotected sex ONS and got a STD test ten weeks after...it came back clear and the nurse told me
I was low risk for HIV anyway she never said about getting re tested after 12 weeks and since becoming pregnant I am really worried I may have got a false positive then (it was a year ago)

Much more likely to be someone seeing if you've had an accident that wasn't your fault within the last 5 years. Try not to worry Smile

HollowTalk · 11/06/2019 21:50

Yes, it's "BT" telling you to give them your passwords so that they can access your computer.

HermioneMakepeace · 11/06/2019 21:52

I imagine if you were HIV+ they would either keep ringing or leave a message. I wouldn’t worry.

Wauden · 11/06/2019 21:55

Yes or 'Microsoft' telling you to allow them full access to your computer and you can trust them because they know your unique' special number which 100 million people share.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 11/06/2019 21:55

I would have thought they'd leave a message.

It's more likely to be one of those calls saying you've been in an accident

AllTheProsecco · 11/06/2019 22:02

I had border line low iron levels and my gps surgery rang me 5 times in the space of an hour whilst I was at work so I imagine if it was something more serious, there would be multiple attempts to contact you.

Try your best not to worry, probably PPI or something!

Hi OP, congrats on the pregnancy Smile

If you had a test done 10 weeks after you last unprotected sex (other than the one whereby you are pregnant of course!!) this would be regarded as pretty conclusive for not having contracted HIV. Even a test done at 4 weeks will show up 95% of infections as they check for antigens as well as antibodies now. This is probably why the nurse didn’t suggest you take another test 2 weeks later.

I hope that helps and you can relax a little

Differentcorner · 11/06/2019 22:57

Your results would be back a lot quicker than that if there was a problem honestly, and you would not just call once or they would have left a message asking you to return call.

justanswerthephone · 11/06/2019 23:02

Did you post this earlier?

If it were the doctor they would have left a message

Pregnantbitscared88 · 12/06/2019 08:56

Yes I did I had massive anxiety all night don’t want to ring back again as they will think I’m annoying but they are open and so far no phone call. They’d ring me first thing if it was urgent wouldnt they

I have also panicked in the past about missed calls from doctors and hospitals. When I've finally got through it's always been something minor. And as others have said this one probably wasn't even from the hospital. It's a bugger though isn't it! I wouldn't feel bad about calling back and asking someone to call you with results, just to put your mind at rest
