To ask if anyone knows what this book trilogy is?

My mother remembers a trilogy about the potato famine in Ireland. The only thing she can remember is that the last book is called Daniel. Does anyone know the author or trilogy?

Marita Conlon-McKenna had a famine trilogy. Under the Hawthorn Tree is the only title I can remember.

I loved the Marita Conlon McKenna trilogy! A quick google also reveals a famine trilogy by Charles Egan called the Killing Snows. No Daniel title in that either though.

Oh these were fabulous books! Such fond memories of a favourite teacher reading this to us in class.

I'm sure this is The Lost People trilogy. Checking the author now. I read them when I was a teenager and loved them.

The Silent People! That's the other book I was trying to think of. I could see it in my mind's eye on my brother's bookshelf but the title just wouldn't come to me
