I'm the waiting room for an appointment (not really relevant but is for psychotherapy) there is a guy waiting for his girlfriend watching football on his phone. Fair enough it's quite quiet. The waiting room is extremely quiet. BUT he is crunching really really loudly on boiled sweets and making lip smacking sounds. It's driving me up the bastard wall. I want to strangle him!
FWIW I am on the waiting list for an autism assessment and believe I have misophonia so don't know if I am being unreasonable or not to want to scream?

I'd have to say something. Drives me up the wall - and o don't have misophonia.

AiryFairyMum · 06/06/2019 17:11

Sounds like he's just minding his own business. Why would you comment to him about that?

Drogonssmile · 06/06/2019 17:16

@AiryFairyMum I'm not going to comment

If you have misophonia, sorry to be brutal but that is your problem to manage rather than his. His crunching would marginally irritate me (no misophonia) but I would reason that it was none of my business and he means no harm

And I'm always quite jealous of people who don't hear it.

Me too CuriousaboutSamphire
