I took my son to the Dr's with a suspected splinter that we couldn't get out. Dr said it may be a splinter or may be the start of a verruca. He said rather than prodding about or referring for a x-ray. To go and buy some Verruca treatment. I bought some with the advice of the pharmacist. After using it a few weeks I noticed the area where id been applying the cream making the skin really hard but the black dot (suspected splinter) had gone. Returned to the Dr's and told them son's foot is now hurting where the skin is mow getting hard to be told 'it feel's like a verruca but doesn't look like one, but carry on using the cream has it cant do any harm' the only reason it felt like a verruca in my opinion is because the verruca treatment was damaging his skin making it hard. I used the treatment a further few days then decided not to use it any more as it was damaging sons foot and clearly continuing to use treating was causing harm. Fast forward a few weeks of not using it my son has a small painful hole in his foot where the suspected 'verruca' was been treated. I 100% feel the cream has done the damage at the bad advice of a Dr. Aibu to be angry with dr for so carelessly fobbing us off to get us out the office.
