Peri menopausal - itchy as fuck?

Is this another symptom of the dreaded menopause, I'm constantly itchy, DP has no nails left as I'm always asking him to scratch me.

This along with the hot flushes, irregular periods, javelin arse, acne, and forgetfulness is driving me insane

sounds like it, have you been to the doctor to see if they can help. HRT really helped me with flushes. have you tried just wearing cotton clothes if you can, sensitive washing powder, unscented soap etc. poor you, it's not pleasant. not sure about the javelin arse, actually I don't know what that is but it sounds painful.

Have been putting off going to the doc but I'm going to bite the bullet I think, I'm always so bloody tired too.

Javelin arse is just that, feels like someone has rammed one up there when I have a period. And don't get me started on the shits!

I read somewhere that feeling itchy can be due to your body unable to get rid of hormones quickly enough, something to do with the liver. Have you tried an antihistamine?

Oh God Hammy, the joys of being a woman eh?

Yes it’s called formication, definitely a menopause symptom. Giving up bio detergents and fabric softener helped for me.

Also not sure about the javelin arse but the rest sounds familiar! I had itchy ribs and an insanely itchy back when I went to bed. I bought some clever duvet that knows when I'm hot that helped enormously with hot flushes at night.
