To ask why I'm getting random phone calls

Over the last few months I seem to get 2-3 phone calls a week from numbers in Birmingham or Manchester or other large cities, from callers who hang up without speaking.

Does anyone know why this might be? It's definitely not a case of dodgy phone calls in the sexual sense. Sometimes the numbers have been searched by others along the lines of "who called me from". If they are bloody marketing calls, why did they hang up?

I get them too. Just block them. I never answer when i see a Manchester or Birmingham dialling code. Itll be a dialler seeing if your number is genuine or along those lines and then sold on to PPI/cae crash companies etc.

The computer sends out 20 calls, then the 10 workers answer the calls - which leaves 10 unanswered calls - if you see what I mean!!

Yes I agree with the above just block them in future.

The calls are some spoof foreign outfit trying to infiltrate your PC. The current ones we are getting are "this is BT - we are going to cut off your service". They can also spoof real phone numbers, rather than giving you 00 numbers.

@Plump82 and @GreenTulips , that sounds about right, as I've also had a couple of the fake car crash calls too.
