my older two dc were invited out unexpectedly last night, so to make dd3, aged 7, happy sggested a pub with a band, just for one drink. since i had been up previous night buying harry potter for ds.

of course i drove, knackered already. dh and dd. after one drink dh took dd to see band, in pub, i was left outside.. eventually went to find them, low and behold he was getting aother drink. I Said One. i had told him i was too tired. he couldnt drive to the pub cos he had been drinking already. he was with some people who said they were old friends and he was just having one drink with them.. i was hopeful they could drive him home!
nasty row on the way home, put dd to bed, veyr late . he said i was rudeto his friends. he even said he would go on his own another time. as if, the pub is a drive away. he is so selfish. or was i wrong.

Would you have been so bothered if you werent tried? I know you told dh one drink only, and it wrong that he didnt think of you and decided he wanted another.
I think its a silly thing to fight over, i would have taken dd home and told hubby and told him to make his own way if he wanted to stay.
He does sound like he was behaving like an arse, but not worth getting yourself stressed about it.

I know you were tired and he was an arse, but think about it logically when was the last time you went into a pub for one drink. ??

lisad123 · 22/07/2007 10:14

I still would have left him there, his a big boy and capable of finding his way home surely.

I think it was a very normal marital row and you will make it up today. If there was anything to say to him I would have asked him to come back outside away from his friends as you wanted to discuss something with him.

taxidriver · 22/07/2007 10:30

yes he did come outside away from his "friends".. eventually threw his drink away!
am still tired today
he is sleeping it off.
i spose i might put my wdding ring back on.

OP posts:
Judy1234 · 22/07/2007 10:31

I would put it back on and get into bed with him.

taxidriver · 22/07/2007 10:31

and logically that is right Bree.. had i not been so exhausted i would have let it wash over me.

OP posts:
taxidriver · 22/07/2007 10:32

he smells.

You could have a bath together... I suspect this isn't going to work.

taxidriver · 22/07/2007 11:10

am not so cross or upset now though

Have to say that a pub at night is not a place I would take a 7-year-old, band or not. Can't see what the big deal is once you were there for DH to have two drinks, personally.

taxidriver · 22/07/2007 16:46

but they are not smokey any more
amazing

DoubleBluff · 22/07/2007 16:49

Think you may have overeacted.
It was your idea to go to the pub and no one ever just goes for the 'one'.
Have you got your irng back on?

expatinscotland · 22/07/2007 16:50

DH had to take off his wedding ring. He got terrible contact dermatitis, the doc thinks it might have been an allergic reaction to diesel, and he has to leave it off till he's finished this tube of vile-smelling steroid ointment.

newgirl · 22/07/2007 19:06

i think it all sounds bonkers

why did you go when you were so tired? if he wanted to go so much he should have got a real taxi or a lift

he probably wanted you to perk up and have a night out

staying up to get the harry potter is slightly bonkers - sat morning was ok for us...!!

i think i would be pissed off if id gone to pub then dh wanted to go straight home

so i reckon let it go this time

taxidriver · 22/07/2007 20:39

well as i said to dh i did the harry potter malarky for our ds
and to placate an upset dd, whose sibling were invted out at the last minute, took her out, for her enjoyment.

i put my ring back on. i felt naked without it.
tho of ocurse do have many problems with dh on the whole anyway.
