When do students tend to come home for summer?

Exams finish June 10th but accommodation in halls doesn't end till early July.
Is it unreasonable to just leave straight after last exam..or do students tend to stay till the very end of term..even though no exams or work?

When everyone else in their flat leaves and they get bored..... and hungry 😀

Some of my friends went home the second they didn't need to be there any more, others (like me) stayed until kicking out day. My logic was that I paid for it so I'm bloody using it.

Daughter's uni (1st year) mates left last weekend - she's staying in halls until June 7th then moving into special summer accommodation as she's staying there for the summer for training needs. Son (3rd year) always came home as late as possible as home is boring and London much more fun! Now he's renting a house, he will stay there all summer (and get a bloody job to pay for it!!!)

I always came straight home when my last exam finished because i was skint and needed to work and steal my parents food to survive! But plenty of my friends stayed on for a few weeks for parties and stuff.

ds's exams finish on 17th and he has accommodation in halls until 28th. He will stay until the end as he has things he needs to sort for next year. Most of his friends are staying.

I either stayed the whole summer to work (more work available in university town plus stressful staying the whole summer with parents and readjusting to being treated like a child) or one summer spent the summer working abroad. Most people in my experience stayed in university accommodation for as long as they'd paid for it unless they had a job lined up near their parental home or a boy/ girlfriend in the town they grew up in.
