Dp was due ti be paid today. Often it doesn't go in until late as they manually transfer. Thr lady who does it is on holiday. Its not in there yet.. A Direct debit has gone out leaving slightly over drawn

Does anyone know if the wage is put in by a certain time i. E 3pm he won't get a charge.

I know lloyds allow up to 3pm for the funds to go in before getting a charge

On most HSBC accounts, you aren't charged for an unarranged overdraft if it's less then £10 or you pay in money before 5pm. You'll be charged a daily fee from tomorrow which varies on account type.

It's just over 10 and the money I hope will go in today. Its a basic account

Could you shift the direct debit by a day or two to make sure wages arrive and clear? Most payées are fine with that as they know people get paid at different times, incl weekly, monthly etc.

Yes that's our plan. I've just transferred it to. His account so hopefully no charge will incur (don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place)
To be honest I thought all his dd were due on the 1st so will change that later on.
