I’m 19+1 today and so far haven’t felt anything Sad my anomaly scan isn’t for a week and a half and I’m getting so impatient and so worried that something is wrong. I know that early on it sort of feels like bubbles or butterflies, but I have IBS so I have quite a bubbly tummy anyway!

Oh I think not until around the 20 weeks with my first but this pregnancy I felt him from around 16 weeks. It feels like bubbles early on, it can be hard to distinguish. Try not to worry! Although that's our jobs now Grin

janetforpresident · 30/05/2019 21:30

I was 20weeks with first. Possibly even later. I had an anterior placenta which may have masked the early kicks. When you go for your scan they will be able to tell you the position of the placenta. I wouldn't worry for a while yet. Congratulations

Justanyrh1 · 30/05/2019 21:30

20 weeks for me. It wasnt a gentle bubbly feeling either, it felt like I’d been suddenly pushed hard up the vagina, it properly freaked me out! And then movements were frequent after that. Hopefully the scan will put your mind at rest Flowers

Fortheloveofscience · 30/05/2019 21:31

21+4 for me, I went overnight from feeling nothing to having proper kicks that DH could feel from the outside.

Oneofthosedreadfulparents · 30/05/2019 21:32

Somewhere between 4 and 5 months for me. I was desperate for it to happen, and remember when it did - in the middle of our morning meeting at work when I couldn’t say anything, just smiled to myself and rubbed my belly under the desk. If you’re worried though, give your midwife a shout, they won’t mind.

LittleAndOften · 30/05/2019 21:32

About 24 weeks for me.

jaseyraex · 30/05/2019 21:32

I had an anterior placenta with my first and was about 29 weeks when I actually felt distinguished movement. I was very relieved at my anomaly scan to find the reason why I couldn't feel him!
I remember a midwife saying it could be as late as 25 weeks before feeling movement with your first though. Try not to worry. You'll feel it soon. Congratulations Smile

PinkiOcelot · 30/05/2019 21:32

About 20 or 21 weeks in first and 17 in second.
Try not to worry. Everyone is different.

Pixie2015 · 30/05/2019 21:35

Think around 22w but more of a fluttering sensation at first

IRememberSoIDo · 30/05/2019 21:36

I remember getting a fluttering sensation when I was bent completely over at around 16/17 weeks but then didn't feel anything for probably 3/4 weeks more. Thankfully someone told me movement could be felt irregularly early on. I'd say from about 20/22 weeks it became regular and not long til I was being beaten from the inside

Aimily · 30/05/2019 21:36

I started getting bubble pop sensations around 23 weeks but didn't feel any 'proper' movement until I popped at week 28, it was like baby decided it was time to show the world and me it was in there. I'm now 33 weeks with a mini fidget and regularly get my ribs tenderised, usually just as I'm trying to go to sleep Hmm

Please don't worry, you are totally normal 😁

cadburyegg · 30/05/2019 21:37

20 weeks for DS1

AliTheMinx · 30/05/2019 21:37

I think it was around 22 weeks for me, so try not to worry x

Beaverdam · 30/05/2019 21:38

I could feel flutters at 16 weeks.

littlecabbage · 30/05/2019 21:38

21 weeks for me.

MrsArnott · 30/05/2019 21:40

Depends on the position of your placenta, mine was posterior so felt movement (popping) from 18 weeks, didn't feel kicking until about 22 weeks when my Dh could feel it. Try not to worry, every woman is different, if your placenta is anterior you may go over the 29 week stage congrats! X

qj17 · 30/05/2019 21:40

About 19 weeks

MrsArnott · 30/05/2019 21:40

20 not 29

GivenchyDahhling · 30/05/2019 21:41

I was 20 weeks - I was desperate to feel something earlier, kept feeling things I thought maybe were kicks. Then when I was laying down in bed in the morning I felt something that was unmistakeable, it was different to anything else - I understood why people said bubbles, butterflies etc (although neither are perfect descriptors, hard to describe the sensation). I now feel constantly, particularly in the evening and morning in bed, and when I’m sat around half an hour after eating - am 22+4

LovesHisMummyReally · 30/05/2019 21:43

18/19 and midwife said that was early. Depends on how baby is positioned and how much 'padding' you have. I am expecting it to be later with second pregnancy due to the latter Grin

funinthesun19 · 30/05/2019 21:44

20 weeks

mummaminnie · 30/05/2019 21:48

21 weeks and it was just a flutter.

iano · 30/05/2019 21:50

About 20weeks with my first.
14 with my second

AngeloMysterioso · 30/05/2019 22:12

Thanks all, you’ve made me feel a lot better! Baby was wriggling all over the place at our 12 week scan so hopefully I’ll start feeling things soon. Fingers crossed!
