About friend who keeps asking me on holiday?

A good friend of mine who is single and likes travelling asks me every six months or so if I'd like to go on holiday with her, most recently to New York. It's nice to be asked but I always have to say no because I'm a single mum and just don't have that kind of spare cash, at all. She's very well off but knows my situation. AIBU to find it odd that she keeps asking? I just have to say each time that it sounds lovely but unfortunately I can't afford it which gets slightly depressing tbh!

next time she mentions it i would say 'Unfortunately it's not going to be possible for the foreseeable future, I can't afford it and won't be able to for some time' and leave it at that. all the best x

Yes I will say that this time. I've more or less said the same before though and she doesn't seem to get the message!
