...and what you should do about it? My DD is 2.5 and hasn't gone in 2.5 days! Usually she goes once a day. Should I be worried? I feel quite worried but then I am a worrier!

Problem is if I make an appt. with the GP she won't get seen until next week at the earliest! But it's a stupid thing to go to A&E about... so what am I supposed to do?

Sometimes children’s bowel habits change, can be due to new foods, and sometime they can become a little constipated. Plenty of water, and if you can some prune juice watered down a little. Ella’s kitchen (I believe that’s what it’s called) do sachets of prunes- that would help too. If she won’t drink water, very diluted squash or some orange juice, and fruit lollies can also help- the sugars in them can help them go and the water will provide fluid. If that doesn’t work, pop to the pharmacy and see what they can give, as I know ours prescribe as well as OTC stuff (I’m in Wales I don’t know how England, Scotland and Ireland work).

Well the longest mine went without doing one was 10 days. Chronic constipation.
2.5 days doesn’t warrant a&e. Make sure she has plenty of water and I second the advice above of a Ella’s kitchen prune pouch.

Ok, thanks! Ten days - wow! It already feels weird to keep putting food in her mouth when nothing is coming out the other end!

I'll get some prunes. She's drinking totally normally thankfully.
